Private yoga nidra
Yoga nidra provides an opportunity to explore your experience, while allowing your body to fall into a state of deep relaxation.
Just like the co-meditations sessions, the practice of yoga nidra is based on the premise that you are whole and always have been, and that there is nothing that needs to be changed or fixed about your experience.
Yoga nidra helps develop the skill of listening to the body, noticing how emotions, thoughts and beliefs show up as sensations in the body and explore these. By doing this, powerful insights often appear.
In a private session, we’ll start with a short conversation to check in with how you’re doing and what you would like to get out of the session. From there we’ll set an intention for the practice. This could for example be to rest, to explore a specific emotion, thought, belief or sensation, to develop your inner resource of well-being, experience joy, gratitude, or to reconnect to your sense of wholeness.
You will practice the yoga nidra meditation in a comfortable position of your choice. If you like I can help you set up a suitable Restorative Yoga pose. You may close your eyes while I guide you through the practice with my voice.
In the first session, we’ll spend some time developing an inner resource of safety and well-being, from which you can meet and explore your experience as it is.
At its core, yoga nidra is a practice of welcoming, which can seem difficult if there is an aspect of your experience that you have been resisting for a long time. But even welcoming that resistance can provide a deep sense of peace and relief.
After a yoga nidra practice of about 30 minutes, we will debrief and transform any insights into an intention for moving forward. You will be provided with a recording that you can practice with time and again, or until our next session together.
It’s possible to book a single session, or to work together over time.
Private yoga nidra sessions are an hour long and I offer sliding scale pricing. Feel free to contact me to schedule an appointment or to have a quick chat about how I can best support you.
